Apparently writers block is a thing because I have so many topics that I want to write about yet no idea where to start! Yesterday was the first Saturday that I haven’t worked in a while (which was blissful and needed to say the least) We spent the day at my parents and then headed out east on the boat. I definitely struggle with “shutting off” from work, and it’s hard to find a balance. Here are a few of my favorite photos:
The little girl pictured is my sister Clementine. She’s only a few weeks younger than Aspen. The two of them have the strongest bond, although frequently argue like twins. It’s a story for another time but my mum and I were pregnant at the same time (her pregnancy was planned, mine at 21 not so much…) I was ironically hoping Aspen was a girl and I think my parents were trying for a boy (not that they’ll admit to it).
As for my diet…well that has certainly been all over the place. You know when you go hunting for something that you don’t want to find? But then do it (and find it) anyway? well that’s exactly what happened. I had a weird feeling about something, did my investigating…. and the rest is history. A few good tears, indulgences and glasses of wine later and my upset has turned to anger.
I love F-Factor and the structure it provides, but I’m still working on finding a balance that works. I had a wake up call from watermelon. Why should I feel guilty over watermelon but not protein powder that’s been processed? I’m not against powders at all, in fact I love F-Factor powders and how versatile they are (smoothies, waffles, dressings, sauces etc!) but I was labeling high carb fruit (bananas, apples etc) as forbidden and had to remind myself that all food is allowed in moderation. Here are a few of my favorite meals from the week (F-Factor approved)
Greek salad with iceberg, cucumber, red onion, tomato and Feta cheese
When I’m craving something sweet – I’ve been loving this breakfast! It keeps me full until lunch. One small banana, 3/4 cup greek yogurt, 1 tbsp almonds and 1 serving of SF Syrup.
Whenever I don’t know what I’m in the mood for, this is the salad I always go for! Argula, iceberg, tuna, and tomato. I like to top it with balsamic.
GG’s – I have mixed feelings! They really help keep me full and are filled with fiber. This meal was 4 GG’s and an egg white scramble with cauliflower rice, mushrooms and tomatoes.
