I can’t believe it’s almost summer time! I also can’t believe that Aspens about to turn eight years old and that this is my first blog post of the year. To be honest (and in very me-fashion) 2022 has been a dramatic whirlwind. Maybe one day I will share my health journey but for today I thought it would be fun to share some of my favorite Summer items (mainly because I’m a shopaholic at heart and who doesn’t love the anticipation of waiting for a parcel at your doorstep? ).
Every year my style seems to evolve. Right now I’m loving Jcrew, Banana Republic and this boutique Fox’s which has all European brands. I’ve also been working on interior design. My living room ended up getting a makeover and in time I hope to redo my kitchen. As our house is from the 1800’s the kitchen is all wooden. My dream would be white cabinets and marble! The problem is that everything is backordered 6-12 months, so getting that done anytime soon is nothing more than a dream (and an expensive one at that!). Anyway back to Summer and shopping! Here is what I have purchased recently:
- A Fitbit – I know what you’re thinking. “How 2015 of her, hasn’t she heard of the Apple Watch?!” yes and yes. I even have the latest and greatest Apple Watch but after reading a friends review on instagram stories about her new find, I did some research and found out that a FitBit tends to be more accurate, focuses strictly on health and even tracks your stress level. It’s also smaller than the Apple Watch and as my steps are minimal these days, I’m thinking it will hold me accountable. They even have a kids one which I’m going to buy for Aspen for his birthday!
2. Tennis shoes– According to Molly Sims and her podcast “Lipstick on the rim” tennis shoes are having a serious moment. Yes these sneakers remind me of my Junior high school cheerleading days, but high socks, white sneakers black leggings are all the trend right now. Don’t believe me? Head to your nearest Equinox..
3. A Gingham Tennis Outfit – Ok if the entire top/skirt combo is to much for you then pair the top with a white skirt or the skirt with a white top. I’m obsessed and of course ordered the top and skirt. I always thought that wearing tennis skirts for anything other than tennis was strange but APPARENTLY not! It’s a trend. I also love Lulu lemons. It comes in a variety of colors.
4. A good beach read– Colleen Hoover is really a phenomenal writer. Last year we joined our local beach club and I really started to enjoy the simple pleasure of reading again. It’s a great escape. Another book I absolutely loved was The Last Mrs Parish. I couldn’t put it down!
Well thats my line up for today! It feels so great to be back here and blogging again. Come back soon! xxx Mercedes
