Yesterday I decided it was time to turn things up a notch and created my first “What I Eat In A day on a low carb diet ” video. Was it perfect? Absolutely not. But a start? Yes! I’m still going to continue to write these blog posts, because they add some some depth. Much more than a 12 second video can! Incase you missed the video (you lucky thing you!) I’ve linked it at the bottom of this post.
Early Morning Breakfast 7am
- 30g Fiber One cereal mixed with 3/4 cup mixed berries, 170g Fat Free Fage yogurt and unsweetened vanilla almond milk to make the yogurt creamy.
Thoughts: For whatever reason I woke up starving this morning hence the early breakfast! As you can tell I took the picture before adding the fiber one cereal, but your not missing much. Just imagine tiny little fiber filled twigs!
Afternoon Lunch 12pm
- Sliced Carrots/ Bell Pepper sprinkled
- Large salad with iceberg, arugula 14g Goat Cheese, 4 sliced pickled beets, and 5 oz grilled Cajun Chicken. For the dressing I used balsamic vinegar.
Thoughts: I know what you’re thinking: who is this girl who suddenly loves to cook!? I don’t know either. But what I do know is that you NEED this cajun seasoning. It’s absolutely delicious and, my new favorite thing!
Snack 3pm
Sugar free jelly beans – I know, I know- I was reluctant to admit this… BUT you can have 28 for 80 calories and 3 net carbs, plus they totally hit the spot. Sometimes you just have to give in to cravings!
Delicious Dinner 5pm
- Greek salad with fresh shrimp and balsamic vinegar paired with Mr Tortilla
Thoughts: This dinner was quite underwhelming which may (or may not be) why I gave in to a few (oops) desserts today without any form of exercising. I’ll save you from the photos but it was just one of those days! On days when I eat higher carb, I just try to stay under a certain amount of calories. It’s all about balance!
