Back by popular demand..what I eat in a day on the F-Factor Diet! Now before you read any further I want to point out that it’s Aspens 6th birthday tomorrow, so today wasn’t an ideal “F-Factor” day. The reason that I haven’t done an F-Factor post in a while is because I noticed the protein powders/bars were exasperating my bloat. Something I’ve really struggled with since recovering from an eating disorder. To be honest, I’ve noticed it for a while. Long before F-Factor I tried quest protein powders/vegan protein powders and had the same issues. So for now I’ll be eliminating them from my diet.
It hasn’t been easy. I love F-Factor smoothies, pancakes, waffles and muffins. I’ve been much more hungry, and eating one to many servings of fruit to compensate. Do I feel guilty? No BUT since adding in an additional serving of fruit in the afternoon (which goes against food – combining principles), I’ve noticed more bloating. So it’s all trial and error these days. I feel best following a Strict Step 1, but the past few weeks have been more step 1.5- step 2. Another question I keep getting asked Is how much weight I’m trying to lose. To be 100% honest, I did gain weight during quarantine but obsessing over a number on the scale isn’t healthy. I’m more focused on how my clothes fit and being my happiest/healthiest self.
With all of that said..my what I eat In a day:
Breakfast 915am
- 1/2 cup Julians Progranola
- 3/4th cup greek yogurt
- 1 cup mixed berries
Thoughts: I freeze the following overnight and create an overnight oats concoction! Someone commented “when you want to eat ice cream for breakfast but be healthy at the same time” I couldn’t have said it better myself! It’s my new favorite.
Lunch 12pm
- Carrots and snap peas
- Turkey, lettuce, tomato wrap with 1/2 mini avocado
Thoughts: I’ve been trying to add in healthy fats to keep me full throughout the day. The Avocado really made a difference.
Snack 230pm
- Frozen grapes and raspberries squeezed with lime juice and sprinkled with truvia (I didn’t measure the amount)
- Crepini Crepes with 10 Lilys choc chips and @choczero
- 1/4th SC light Choc Greek yogurt cheesecake
Thoughts: This is where I fell REALLY off track today! Oops..don’t recommend! To make a long story short.. I was making Aspen a Pillsbury Funfetti cake topped with chocolate chips and marshmallows. Instead of digging the spoon into the icing (or the cake) I went for the “healthier” alternative.
Dinner 5pm
- Cauliflower rice “Risotto” with 1/4th cup tomato sauce
- Zucchini “Chips” and Cauliflower baked on top of a side salad with apple cider vinegar
Thoughts: Instead of writing the day off after my mid afternoon indulgence, I jumped right back on track with dinner. I need to work on finding a healthier snack that is low carbs but filling!
