To be perfectly honest, I have no idea if i’m doing this right. Any of it. But i’ve been influenced on Substack by other Substacker(s) to create my own magazine page with things that i’m currently loving. In a perfect world I would love my work to one day be picked up by a magazine, or to be published in a big publication but for now we’re going to manifest those dreams and go with the flow.
So let’s just jump right in to everything that i’m loving for the spring. Unfortunately I haven’t quite figured out how to make the images“clickable” links (making my “job” even more tedious over here) but if you scroll down below the image you can see everything listed.
- Perfume: Perfume and Hair Mist the best Baccarat Rouge 540 dupe i’ve found is by dossier and linked here (you’re welcome).
- Makeup: I’m a creature of habit with just about anything (including makeup). I’ve worn the same Clinique foundation since I was 15 and old enough for makeup, and stuck to the same bronzer and lipstick for many years now.
- Flats: You can never have too many shoes, and you can always find the room in your closet. I love beige flats because they match with pretty much anything. These Sam Edelman flats are comfy but trendy and best of all? on sale.
- Clothes: I wrote an entire blog post about my ever-evolving style but this summer i’m going for a costal chic “vibe”. Inspired by my new love of Tuckernuck. I’m constantly posting outfits on my LTK which you can find here. If you’re interested in my blog you can also sign up for my newsletter which gets sent out every Friday morning. Don’t worry, I hate getting inundated with emails and promise not to spam your inbox.
- Powder Nails: I switched over from gel to powder many years ago, but i’m loving almond shape nails and pastel colors for spring. Apparently glass nails are also in demand which is just a layered manicure that uses a metallic magnetic polish and a high gloss jelly top coat (according to realsimple.com). Something to try if I ever deviate from Fiji and Forever Yummy.
- Hair mask: When it comes to hair, skin and nails you don’t want to cut corners. Trust me I tried and ended up with my hair bright orange right before flying to England in November. My hair colorist luckily squeezed me in for an “emergency” appointment and gifted me this hair mask (which has over two thousand 4.4 star reviews for very good reason). I use it 2-3 times a week and notice a significant difference with the strength of my hair.
- Books: I’ll be honest, last year I was very into reading, but this year has been a struggle. I miss it deeply and i’m in need of a good “escapism” book just to get me into reading again. One book I have read which I really recommend is Manifest by Roxie Nafousi.
Thank you so much for reading. I would love to hear what you think about posts like this. Are you a visual person as well? Do you like the magazine layouts? Should I make this a weekly thing? let me know your thoughts!
