“The greatest weapon anyone can use against us is our own mind, by preying on the doubts and uncertainties that already lurk there. Are we true to ourselves, or do we live for the expectations of others? And if we are open and honest, can we ever truly be loved? Can we find the courage to release our deepest secrets, or in the end, are we all unknowable? Even to ourselves.”
One of my very guilty pleasures is watching Revenge. Aside from admiring “Emily Thorne’s” (who is a hypothetical character played by Emily VanCamp) sincere dedication for revenge, I also love her quotes and the story line behind the series.
So after watching the two hour- jaw dropping season finale last night, I decided to start off today’s post with one of her quotes. It seems as though every episode has more than one question behind it. Keeping your mind racing, and memory exertive.
For me, the above quotation applies to the last few weeks. It makes me wonder if we are our own worst enemy? do we take for granted what we have until it’s gone? or do we find a way to get rid of what we have, in order for it to be gone? The answers as complicated as the question, which for me-still remains unanswered.
On that very complex note, today I went shopping. Summer is one of my favorite seasons. For one of many reasons:A) you can get tan, without having to get sprayed a lovely shade of orangeB) you can drink cold drinks, without freezing your handsC) goodbye jackets, snow, and ugg boots. Hello bikinis, beaches, and the Hampton’s!D) walking everywhere became much more appealing than taking cabsE) my moods are just generally better in the summer. I mean who doesn’t want the sun shining?
So as I re-organized my closet at home and shopped away for summer clothes in Manhasset, It’s fair to say i’m counting down the days until I can walk outside in a dress, and feel nothing but the sun. I also plan to sleep at the beach, drink champagne at the beach, and enjoy each and every day above 60 degrees.
