Disclaimer: I am not really a runway girlfriend but the name makes me laugh. I never quite make it to the ring, or the wedding but I almost certainly am the ex before the wife. I joked about this with a matchmaker a few months ago who scouted me out on Linkedin for her apparent “rolodex” of men.
My Substack days were short lived and I decided to impulsively delete it during what I would call a steroid induced meltdown. Why? Because I felt like I was cheating on my blog each time I would type away. Neglecting a platform I have built up from scratch and worked hard on for 15+ years. One thing about. me? I’m a very loyal woman,
I contemplated re-creating my Substack as hiding behind words anonymously is more comfortable than sharing (or sobbing) my sorrows away, but quickly realized that the beauty in my blog is the raw honesty.
From being published by the Daily Mail, receiving a handwritten letter from Ivanka Trump in 2013, and many many brand deals and life milestones. It’s fair to say we’ve been through a lot together on this blog. The good, the bad, the crazy.
Don’t get political on me because I am not a political person. However in college I admired Ivanka Trump for building up a name for herself, starting a fashion brand and becoming a business woman rather than a complete nepo-baby.
So let’s jump into what I’m watching (not an Iv pump slowly trickling down), what I’m wearing (not a hospital gown), and what I’ve accomplished (not running out of the hospital gasping for fresh air).
WATCHING: Adolescence on Netflix (except if you know me, you know that I have no attention span so I’m barely watching it at all) and mainly listening to British accents while applying for my next brand deal.
WEARING: Beige Ballet flats
WHAT I’VE ACCOMPLISHED: My first brand deal through LTK. My second one is coming on the 28th of March and I can’t wait to share it! I used to work with so many brands in the past (before LTK even existed) so this is new and exciting territory for me. It’s a labor of love and a work in progress, similar to my Youtube Chanel.
WHAT I”M EATING: I’m always fascinated by what other people are eating. Ever since our trip to England I have been obsessed with poached eggs (and this is coming from a girl who only used to eat egg whites and count every calorie) and now? now I focus on the quality of food over the calorie count of food.
WHAT I”M LISTENING TO: If you’ve read my blog you know that I hate silence, but this week was dull on the podcast front. I’m also emotionally exhausted from all of the doctor’s appointments this week. Being very much an introvert, I recharge by being alone – so podcasts have been the last thing I want to listen to (along with medical lingo).
WHAT I’M READING: Salt Sisters. My Nanna gave me this book when we went to visit, I chose to pack it over more Cadbury chocolate and Marks & Spencer Percy Pigs stuffed between Christmas jumpers in my suitcase. I didn’t manage to sit down and read it until this week where I was forced to (quite literally) sit down and slow down.
As I mentioned Nanna, I want to thank her. She navigates my newsletter, reads my blog, and encourages me to keep writing on a daily basis. I love you Nanna and I’m lucky to be your granddaughter. I’ll also thank my grandfather pictured above who always keeps us entertained with his many stories, climbed mountains In his 70’s, and makes the best scrambled eggs I’ve ever tasted.
