You read it here first! Congratulations. I’m starting a Youtube channel! Now you may be thinking: Isn’t she a bit old for this? Here’s my response: No. My 60 year old father has a TikTok. Is he Charli d’amelio? No. Did he go viral and have over 39,000 views on one video in less than 8 days of posting? Yes. He did and I’m here to say that you can too. In fact we both can.
Now if you’ve been following me for a while, you may know that I tried to create a Youtube channel back in 2020 right before the pandemic. I had gone through a breakup, moved back to Long Island, and thought it was time to press the record button. I filmed on my laptop, edited on iMovie and to be completely transparent: the videos were bloody awful. Why? Because I had no confidence and no story line. I was not my bubbly enthusiastic self, I was draining and dreary. In retrospect, maybe we can say I was a little lost and it S-H-O-W-E-D.
Now, over a year later I’m here to start again. Something that I always tell Aspen is that we never give up. If you never give up you never fail – so I jumped ALL IN. After days of comparing the Sony ZV1 to the Cannon G7X I decided to go with the Sony. Why? mainly because of watching countless YouTube videos comparing the two which brings me to (one of my first videos) introducing my new camera.
What I will say is that if you’re going to buy this camera you definitely need a few accessories to pair with it. I can’t think of anything more annoying than buying a camera without a SIM card. So I’ve made a simple list of everything I purchased right off the bat:
