Originally I wanted to create these posts as “Where I went Wednesday” but then I had the idea of: Where I worked Wednesday. Why? Well because working from home (or anywhere?) is the new trend that’s here to stay and because I’m (semi) new to suburb life after living in NYC for 10 years, why not go new places, try new things and meet new people?
Working from home is nothing new to me, but working from anywhere? Well, that certainly is. Each week I’m going to feature a favorite new neighborhood find. Starting with: Real food, Real people in Huntington NY.
First impression? Good music, upbeat, shabby chic anthropology vibes. With benches and a red bicycle outside, this would be the perfect “let’s meet for coffee” date! But don’t be fooled by there pumpkin lattes (served in actual pumpkins and topped with whipped cream) they have an extensive menu of juices, smoothies, salads, sandwiches, bowls and even soup perfect for chilly days.
My order was basic: large iced coffee with a dash of almond milk. I sat by the black bold typewriter and people watched. You know you’re at the right spot when there’s customers immediately after opening. As I was about to pay, I noticed they had peppermint brownie cakesicles and a delicate cake topped with figs and pomegranate, so if sweet treats are your thing-this is also the spot for you.
Overall I was very impressed. Great atmosphere, friendly staff, and most importantly: real food and real people! This will definitely be my new go to spot and I’m excited to report back on there juices/food. Have you checked it out? What is your favorite item on the menu!?
