Yesterday was a great way to start the new year. Why? Because I won a free dinner at Organic Krush on Long Island! I have to keep telling the world because, I never win anything. In fact I think the last time I won something I was age six and won a free Art Attack Annual for submitting a drawing, and lets just say that was a miracle in itself as well because I was not half as artistic as Aspen!
Lets talk about blogging
The past few days I have worked really hard on re-organizing my blog, adding photos to older posts and updating SEO. It has been such a tedious task because I have over 450 posts to categorize, add new photos too and read. And whilst age, and wisdom has taught me to delegate when necessary- this isn’t something that anyone else can help me with!
What I will say is that it’s funny to reflect and see how much I have evolved as a person. 21 year old Mercedes, completely different from 28 year old Mercedes! I’m also gutted that I never continued blogging when I had tremendous momentum. Turns out I had over 100,000 views in 6 short months when starting out, but of course life happened.
Blogging was quite new at the time and people would make fun of me for sharing my life online. I let the noise get to me and slowly but surely stoped until I had enough confidence to mute the noise and follow my passion – and here we are. I’l admit with so much competition it’s been really hard to organically grow my audience – so if you love my blog or a specific post please be sure to share it with friends/family or pin it on Pinterest so that you can easily find it again. It really does mean the world to me!
For the rest
We’ve had a few low key days but decided to head out and collect some groceries for the week. Once we were finished we collected dinner from Organic Krush. That was the contest that I won! They have locations all over Long Island and offer a family dinner menu. The options were BBQ salmon, Lemon shrimp pasta, Chicken Marinara, Tofu Stir Fry and Streak Fajita. We went with the chicken marinara, and Aspen loved every bite! It’s certainly a spot that we will head back to.
