I’ve been blogging on and off since 2011 and never consistently continued. Why? Mainly competition, judgment and (of course) life throwing lots of lemons.
In 5 short (and scary) years, I’ve birthed my proudest possession (Aspen), moved home, moved out, rented my first authentic 480 SQ Ft studio apartment, studied real estate, studied marketing and somewhere in the middle met my better half, Dan.
I’ve never shared my exact story (mainly because there are wayyy too many components to it) but the few people I trust (and know my journey) are always encouraging me to.
Sharing my journey raw on an open platform would be like Bridget Jones at the top of the mountain, in a bright pink ski suit, in ski’s she has no idea how to navigate. I literally would not know where to start. But I’ve recently recognized the perfect perception influencers/ bloggers put on and want to part from that conception.
Once everyone starts to “put on” a perfect persona, you’re no longer real or relatable.
Which brings me to the point of this post. You should never be afraid to do what you love because of other peoples judgments. Seriously.
You should also never be afraid to share your Journey. Why? Because it’s what makes each of us unique. It’s what differentiates us from the “cookie cutter” way of life, and once shared has the ability to inspire so many others.
Life is short, unpredictable and full of “woulda, shoulda, coulda’s” So tune out the negativity and dive deep into what drives you. Even if it means sliding down the mountain Bridget style.
