I’ve been meaning to write this post for a few weeks now. As a child I vividly remember my parents taking me to Martin Viette on Long Island (now Heritage Farm & Garden) to pick Pumpkins and eat a good candy apple. Living in Manhattan, we don’t have nursery’s, farms, or orchards within close proximity.ย
Dan & I decided to do a quick google search on the best Orchards near by and ventured out to the country to do some authentic Apple Picking.ย Not going to lie, I just really wanted a cute picture on his shoulders picking apples from a tree. He just really wanted good cider (or strong), and Aspen was just excited about the pumpkin patch.ย
I always read reviews before venturing out, so yelped Harvest Moon & Farm. Mixed reviews (as usual) with a lot of complaints about parking. How busy could it possibly be? It was October 6th and weeks before Halloween.
Well, little did we know. We got there for opening (after about 75 minutes in the car) and had to park about a mile away. It was packed. A zoo.ย
There were games, bouncers, apples, pumpkins, cider, pies, you name it -they had it. We spent about an hour or so there before it got even more chaotic and found a yummy diner to eat lunch on our way home. Here are some pictures from our dayย
