Ever since Cannes I’ve loved Tuna Niçoise salads. Not sure if it’s the memories of champagne and warm weather impairing my judgement or what exactly it might be-but I decided to recreate one at home today for lunch.
Before the pandemic, I said that 2020 was going to be the year of health and travel. Instead it’s been months of “isolation and lockdown”. I have good days, bad days, and lonely days – but the main takeaway has been the harsh reminder of how quickly the gift of life or health can be taken from you.
Goals and aspirations get pushed to “one day” rather than “today” – but what if
we never get that chance? There’s so much life I want to live and it’s easy to find every excuse under the sun as to why I “can’t”.
I can’t…
Because the timings off
Because I’m a single mum
Because I have a demanding job
Because I don’t have enough money
The list goes on and on but there’s a common denominator: Where there’s a will there’s a way.
There IS a way to travel the world with a child (ever heard of the Bucket List Family?) There IS a way to travel when you have a job (it’s called planning) AND there IS a way to travel on a budget.
I’m a firm believer in setting goals, and maintaining a positive mindset amongst the madness. Instead of pushing “the life I want to live” off to an indefinite tomorrow, I’m making a conscious effort to live that life today.
