Cheating is bad. Whether it’s in a relationship or on a diet. Now the first week of F-Factor was great. It provided me with structure, and kept me less focused on food. I knew the guidelines (to focus on carbs, fiber and fat) but the second week I fell completely off track.
As always, I found a few meals that I loved and stuck to them. This lack of variety led to larger portions and extra snacks throughout the day. Another guilty confession? I was still counting calories.
It’s been a lot of trial and error. I’ve tried working out earlier, eating earlier, switching up meals, and yesterday (icing on the cake) decided (after 810 days of logging) to ditch MyFitnessPal. I’m exclusively sticking to the F-Factor app which Tanya announced is in the process of being updated. Honestly? Im terrified. Counting calories has given me a sense of control, but at the same time It’s not healthy to be fixated on 24/7. Testing it out for a week to see how I feel…
Breakfast 9am
- Fage 0% Greek Yogurt with 3/4 cup Fiber One Cereal
- 3/4th cup Blueberries
- 1 cup of almond milk
Thoughts: Even though I said I was going to stop drinking almond milk yesterday-it’s hard! I was craving it. It was worth every drop!
Lunch 12PM
- Green salad with tomatoes, cauliflower rice, red onion, tuna, and avocado. Dressing was Olive Garden light 2 tbsp (mixed with lemon/vinegar) WRAPPED in seaweed (remainder salad/seaweed not pictured)
- Pepper and carrot slices dipped in Bolthouse Farms Light Ranch Dressing (1 tbsp)
Thoughts: My favorite salad wrapped in seaweed. This helped my salty/crunchy cravings!
Snack 3PM
- F-Factor 20/20 smoothie
- 4 oz of shredded chicken breast, romaine, roasted red onion, tomatoes (2 tbsp of Olive Garden light dressing) and a side of spicy Broccoli, Brussels, and Cauliflower (not pictured)
- 1 SF Jello with FF Whipped Cream
Dinner 430PM
Thoughts: I made a mini cauliflower pizza to pair with this and once it was done wanted nothing to do with it! In the process I ate a little bit of fresh Parmesan which fulfilled my (new) cheese craze.
Dessert 5PM
Thoughts: Not counting this as “cheating” because it’s actually one of Tanya’s “allowed” desserts on Step 1- ALSO remember when I said a few days ago that as soon as my 2 weeks were up on step 1, I was going straight out to get frozen yogurt? well…A) We’re still here in quarantine and B) that never happened.
