If you follow F-Factor you’ve probably seen cauliflower oats all over. Now I love cauliflower rice and I love oatmeal but I hate cauliflower oats. I’ve tried to make them over and over again and forced the entire recipe down before deciding that:
A) I will never make these horrible things again and
B) Cauliflower for breakfast just isn’t “my cup of tea”
Instead of throwing out the recipe, I decided to force it down and then mask the horrible taste in my mouth by adding yogurt, berries and my latest favorite: Crepini pancakes which defeats the point of a healthy breakfast because I basically ate enough for two. If you’re interested in the recipe (does the above not persuade you to give the oats a go!?) I used the following:
-1 packet of frozen cauliflower rice
-3/4 cup almond milk
-1 tsp Psyllium husk
-1 tbsp powdered almond butter
I also mixed in cinnamon/ stevia and topped with 0% Greek yogurt and berries. Now what I will say is that this meal was HUGE. So if you like big meals for relatively low carbs/calories I would recommend – BUT unfortunately, despite how much I added -this recipe just wasn’t for me. I would have been better going for F-factor waffles or bran cereal with almond milk. Lesson learnt!
Breakfast 8am
- Cauliflower oat (disaster!) with 0% Greek yogurt and mixed berries
- Crepini Egg thins and 1 tbsp Choczero maple syrup
Thoughts: The paragraph(s) above explain all. Ate way to much trying to compensate and convince myself I liked something that I didn’t! I also have a feeling that I’m going to be full until 2/3pm as my calories usually range around 200-250 for breakfast not 450. Mega whoops.
Lunch 2PM
- Carrots, tomatoes and cucumber with white wine vinegar
- Salad with spiraled Zucchini noodles and 2 tbsp of OG light dressing
- Double chocolate Built bar
Dinner & Dessert 5-630
- Egg white omelette with 1/2 Tumaros wrap 1/2 Josephs pita
- So delicious almond milk vanilla sandwich, a few bites of Aspens enlightened bar, Lily’s chocolates and a glass of pinot!
Thoughts: In total transparency-today’s meal plan (or lack of) was a total disaster. I was so busy that meals/snacks got rushed/skipped and long story short most of my calories were eaten in one go (in the evening). I didn’t even have 5 minutes to workout this morning which always elevates my stress. Totally off plan today but no point in dwelling on that. Tomorrow is a fresh start.
