Unlike yesterday, I didn’t hesitate to write this post or share my thoughts on this topic. I’m the first to admit that when having Aspen, I had no idea what to expect. If you asked me at seven months pregnant what I was doing with my life, I would have said (and did say) that I would figure it out. I just had this gut feeling that I would make things work, and thankfully I did.
Getting judged for having Aspen at such a young age is something that I’m always going to have to live with. Thankfully the older I become, the less people are questioning my decision. Or the less I care about there judgement? By no means do I condemn having a baby at 22 years of age-but have I ever questioned my decision? absolutely not. Everything I do is because of Aspen, and because I don’t have the option to fail.
This also circles back to Manhattan being a playground for the rich. Not only am I paying for myself in a ludicrously expensive city-but I’m also singlehandedly raising a child!
So all in all do I recommend raising a child in NYC? no. Do I recommend raising a child in NYC on an unlimited budget and the right circumstances? yes.
