Let’s talk about it. You’ve got the resume. You’ve got the experience. You’ve put in the years, climbed the ladders, managed the chaos, and smiled through the meetings that could’ve been emails. You’ve done everything “right,” and yet here you are—scrolling LinkedIn at midnight, wondering how it’s this hard to find a Job that actually feels good.
It’s not just about getting a job. It’s about finding the job. The one that doesn’t suck the life out of you. The one where your skills are respected, your time isn’t abused, and your creativity doesn’t have to be shoved into a box labeled “we’ve always done it this way.”
The truth? The system is outdated, over-filtered, and kind of soulless.
These days, applications go through more algorithms than people. You spend an hour tailoring a resume, only for it to get ghosted by a bot. Interviews feel more like performances than conversations. And half the time, the person interviewing you doesn’t actually understand your skill set—they just know they need a “self-starter who thrives under pressure” (translation: we’re understaffed, and you’re going to be doing five jobs in one).
And let’s not even get into the job listings that ask for ten years of experience, three degrees, and the ability to perform CPR on a Slack channel—all for $40K and “great culture.”
So, yes. It’s hard. Even when you’re qualified. Especially when you’re qualified.
Because once you’ve been around a while, you know your worth. You know what you bring to the table. And you’re no longer interested in settling just to prove that you’re “grateful” to be hired. You want alignment. You want purpose. You want peace—and you deserve it.
If you’re in this season, you’re not alone.
There are a lot of us out here—smart, creative, wildly capable people trying to find spaces that don’t just use us, but value us. Spaces where our work can feel like an extension of who we are, not just a task to complete.
The fulfilling job you’re craving? It’s not a fantasy. It’s just rare. But rare doesn’t mean impossible. So keep showing up, keep refining, keep believing. The right one is looking for you, too.
