When we hear the name Emma Watson our minds go back to Harry Potter, but it’s quite clear how Miss Watson is trying to demolish the association. The actress posed on the front of Britians GQ magazine, in provocative ( and barely there) clothing.
Over the past few years the 22 year old has transformed herself from child star to fashion icon by being the face of Burberry, but now she has (yet again) another image change for upcoming movie “The Bling Ring”.
She told GQ that she relished the opportunity to play an “amoral” character such as Nikki, adding in that : ‘When I read the script and I realised that essentially it was a meditation on fame and what it’s become to our society, I had to do it. ‘The character is everything that I felt strongly against — she’s superficial, materialistic, vain, amoral. She’s all of these things and I realized that I hated her. How do you play someone you hate? ‘But I found it really interesting and it gave me a whole new insight into what my job or my role as an actress could be.”
Emma plays the leading role in the movie directed by Sofia Coppola. Based on the real life Hollywood Hills “Burglar bunch” (as they were known as) and then later arrested In 2009 for a string of break-ins at the homes of stars.
She also told GQ magazine that she is doing her very best to vary the roles she plays, in a bid to avoid being “pigeonholed”” I was open-minded about doing anything but the one thing I didn’t want to do was get myself into a corset because I was worried I would never get out again. This has been a really big departure for me. It’s a really big character. That’s so exciting for me because it meant I was really acting.”
The full interview with Emma appears in the May issue of Britain’s GQ magazine, released on Thursday.
