I have the most exciting news ever. EVER. It’s been such a strange week, to the point to where my voice has been buried in self doubt. I’ve barely left my couch, eaten three pints of fro-yo (in 3 days) and just been in a “little” bit of a flunk.
I’ve been thinking a lot about where I expected to be at 28 verse where I am in life. Honestly from a career and maturity standpoint – I’m extremely proud of how far I have come, but I still feel like something is missing. I have a dream for this platform and would love to see my blog really “take off”. On my food/fitness instagram (@britishnewyorker) people always thank me (or maybe judge me!?!) for being so honest, but Instead of pretending to be perfect, I want to paint a picture through each of my posts.
I’m the furthest thing from perfect. I can be picky, stubborn, and selfish. I’m insecure, indecisive and can be the biggest pain in the ass (when I want to be) and I don’t try to sugar coat it. Why? because what’s the point in pretending to be somebody I’m not? To be honest, that’s why I created a separate Instagram. I wanted a platform where I could share who I really was without judgement. I wanted a platform to share my day (the good, the bad, the boring), and share my cauliflower (Lol).
So with all of that said back to the title of this post: The most exciting news! This morning I decided to login to my regular instagram and came across a message from a very experienced and reputable filmmaker saying that he loved my blog and would love to shoot some content with/for me. I was definitely taken back because A) Most of my posts are diets and dating related (or lack of) and B) ME?! MY BLOG?! It turned my entire day around. PLUS I haven’t really been on camera professionally since I was age 2 in a Pampers commercial-so it should be entertaining to say the least.
In other news, I’m starting to feel like I should make the hashtag “#anotherdayanotherdiet” a “thing” because I’m now testing the waters with Intermittent fasting. I watched a few of Stephanie Buttermore’s original videos on Youtube and she shared that IF really helped her with hunger control. Personally when I (over)eat it tends to be out boredom and stress. I can be physically full yet still eat from a pint of Halo Top or Enlightened. It’s almost like I’m trying to fill a void and comfort myself through food. Big NO-NO. There’s also a ton of benefits such as: Lowered blood insulin and sugar levels, increased energy, and increased concentration. So we will see.
That’s it for now! Stay posted for some very new and exciting content!
